Cut-to-Length Line

Flat sheet cut from coil to the required length.

Process

Coil is unwound on an uncoiler and passed through a leveler to remove coil set, then cut into flat sheets of the required length. It is the standard first step for manufacturers who need coil-supplied material as flat sheet.

Process Steps

01The coil is loaded on the uncoiler and the head end is fed into the line.
02The leveler removes coil set and waviness and flattens the sheet.
03The length is measured with an encoder and the sheet is cut to size in the shear unit.
04Sheets are stacked; interleaf paper or protective film is used depending on surface sensitivity.
05The pack is strapped on a pallet and labelled; batch and heat number traceability is kept.

Typical Material Thickness: Depends on line class: light-gauge lines approx. 0.3 - 3 mm, heavy-gauge lines above 3 mm
General Tolerance Class: Length, width, thickness and flatness tolerances follow the classes of the product standard (e.g. EN ISO 9445)
