Process Steps

1. 01The flat pattern of the part is calculated; the bend allowance is set for the material and inner radius.
2. 02The punch and lower die (V-die) are chosen for the thickness; as a general rule the V opening is about 6 - 12 times the thickness.
3. 03Bend sequence and angle are programmed; stainless steel needs more force than carbon steel and springs back more, which is compensated by overbending.
4. 04The bent angle is measured and corrected if needed.
5. 05For parts sensitive to marking, protective film or tool protection is used.
